You are right. But the way elo works you constantly (often ) fight individuals of the RS gold exact same skill level, which means you never see yourself really improve cause you never get the feeling of absolutely dicking somebody down. And the second they enter pvp they'd find out real quick that their training was not the sort of training. I used to do"fun struggles" as they had been called together with my friends virtually every day, but nobody does.

So I really don't see why something that is essentially the specific same - fighting that your friend - i.e. somebody of your ability level, with no risk and the same equipment, could be popular now when it can already be carried out. Maybe people simply don't have friends? Perhaps because most of their friends are pvm focused, because pk concentrated friends are good enough to pk? I know I really don't have any friends that would fight at the duel arena with me. In fact on that note, I've seen some quite weird fights between what I assume were buddies in actual dangerous zone in pvp worlds - perhaps they do not even know that they could do exactly the same thing with no risk in the duel arena?

Difference is these would be conflicts between randoms and also there would be a cost for winning therefore it would be an incentive to do your best, and it is great if it's slow to begin with because then they could slowly learn the proper use of brews, overheads etc. which is the most important part of nhing. Not to mention the OSRS buy gold innumerable amount of people who'd play for ranked just because an ELO system would be in place, I will not even mention lms also it's ranking system cos that shit is dumb.
